Scout Pro does not endorse the hunting of Big Game animals with drones or drones with thermal imaging during prescribed state hunting seasons. Our "fair chase" philosophy (and most state laws) insist that drones and thermal imaging only be used before the season opens to gather information about the terrain, habits, and haunts of the animal to later be pursued. Almost all states presently allow preseason scouting with drones. Please do not abuse this. Do not chase, harass, or get too close to a wild animal with a drone. This will only spook the animal, trigger a defensive predator response, and greatly decrease the quality of hunting in your area. For about the same price as a wireless game-cam, "The Ghost" is a great starter aerial scouting drone.

But do not let the price fool you. "The Ghost Drone" comes with many features found on the more expensive, professional models like the X-Star Premium and Phantom 4 Pro.

The "Ghost Scout Drone" is super, super easy to fly. This drone gets you up and flying in about 5-10 minutes! It's perfect for scouting small farms, smaller woodlots, thicket patches, brush country breaks, and patchwork meadow lands. It comes with a 1 year “you break—we fix it” warranty which is an outstanding buying point with a starter drone.

"The Ghost" demonstrates good signal connectivity, which is a problem with many drones. The 4K Sports Camera is excellent for a drone in this price range and Customer Support and Service for this scout drone is very, very good, something very important when you are starting out.

You will need a smartphone/tablet (Android or Apple IOS) to operate this particular drone. Your (smartphone/tablet) acts as the drone's "controller".

Since your smartphone/tablet acts as the "controller", and not as a real-time viewing screen as in more expensive aerial drones like the X-Star Premium and Phantom 4 Pro, you have two (2) choices:

1. Fly the Ghost Drone and only record downloadable video footage that you can review later on your computer.

2. Purchase a Hawkeye 5" FPV Screen from Crazepony for around $95 that allows you to view live "real-time" video streaming while flying the Ghost Drone. Using a FPV Screen eliminates the need to purchase the Ehang VF Head Goggle for $500 which is difficult to use during a scouting exercise. Scout Pro highly suggest you get the FPV Screen, so you get the most out of your scouting experience.

Sure, you can still cruise the back forty, all the while taking downloadable video footage with "The Ghost" over the intended scouting area; and then download that footage into your computer for you to review later but this is a very limited use of a drone. Being able to see "real-time" streaming video from your drone as you fly really brings a scout drone into what it can do for the hunter.

The Crazepony Hawkeye 5" monitor screens in 5.8 ghz will work perfect with your "Ghost Drone" and you will be able to see the scouting drone's camera video feed in real-time while you pilot the drone with your tablet or smartphone.

As with all drones, we recommend buying 1 or 2 extra batteries (takes about 30 minutes to recharge), couple sets of propellers and other accessories, so you can keep scouting while your other batteries are charging.

One little trick with this drone is to take off the propeller guards when flying this unit in the outdoors. By doing this it will give you the longest flight times possible.
